Expand Medicaid and Save Lives Here in Georgia! 

• Twelve percent, or about 475,000 Georgians are without health insurance! 

• People without health insurance suffer. They have a lower life expectancy and poorer general health. 

• In rural Georgia, many healthcare providers have closed because of the failure to expand Medicaid benefits to those who qualify. 

• The answer, Expand Medicaid. With Expanded Medicaid, the state pays 10% of patients’ covered expenses, and Federally-funded Medicaid pays 90%. It’s a smart move. Insure more Georgians and see our dismal health records improve. 

Fully Fund and Fully Support 

Our Georgia Public Schools

• Last year, Governor Kemp and the Republican majority approved a $6,500 voucher allowing a child from a “failing public school” to apply the voucher toward the cost of a private school. This includes Catholic, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, or any other religious schools. This is a violation of the separation of church and state.

• Private schools choose their students. They are allowed to discriminate. After all, they are private, not public schools. Using public money, the $6,500 voucher, to help fund a private school is just WRONG.

• Our public schools must educate any child who comes into their doors. That is not true for private schools. Instead of punishing “lower performing schools,” let’s provide those schools with the resources they need to become the best schools they can become.

• Jeff Lowe will work with his fellow legislators to REPEAL the $6,500 Voucher program!

Term Limits for All Georgia Legislators

• Members of the Georgia Legisl1ature, both senators and representatives, serve two-year terms and may run for re-election for as many terms as they wish. While our President and Vice President, and the governor and lieutenant governor of Georgia, are limited to two four-year terms, our legislators are NOT TERM LIMITED. Jeff Lowe believes all elected officials should have some form of term limits. Jeff will propose that members of the Georgia House of Representatives have a term limit of 10 years and members of the Georgia Senate have a limit of 12 years. 

In 40 years of pastoral ministry, the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey C. Lowe served as Senior Pastor or Associate Pastor of three churches in Metro Atlanta. His longest and most significant pastorate was Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Riverdale, GA. Dr. Lowe served as pastor of FBC Riverdale for 24 ½ years, retiring, July 1, 2022. While he served as the pastor at FBC in Riverdale, God led the church to reflect the multi-cultural and multi-racial community of Riverdale.

Jeff Lowe, was very active in the local public schools, including serving as a weekly reader in kindergarten classes for more than 20 years. As an adult, Jeff volunteered in the Clayton County School System, the same public school system he attended from 1962 to 1973. Jeff is a graduate of The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, 1977, B.A., English Literature, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY, 1980, Master of Divinity (M.Div.), 2008, Mercer University, McAfee School of Theology, Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) 

For more than a decade, the Rev. Dr. Lowe was a member of the Association of Christian Ministers of Clayton County, a predominantly African-American ministerial association.

Dr. Lowe served as President, Vice-President, and 

Secretary-Treasurer of the Association.

Jeff Lowe believes in the strict separation of church and state. As a serving local church pastor, he did not believe he should run for political office, but now that he has retired, he seeks to serve as your representative in the Georgia House.

Jeff Lowe was born into a wonderful family. His parents were a part of the Greatest Generation, those who lived through the Great Depression as children and fought in World War 2 to defeat fascist tyranny. Jeff’s father, Sam Lowe, was a navigator on B-24s during the War and was in a Nazi POW camp for 10 months. Returning home, he became an accomplished attorney and judge of the Civil Court (now, Superior Court) of Fulton County, GA. Frances Lowe, Jeff’s mother, was very dedicated to the work of Georgia PTA and the Georgia League of Women Voters. 

Jeff Lowe is blessed with three siblings, two children, and one grandchild. One reason he is running for the Georgia House of Representatives is to set an example of public service for his granddaughter, Addie, just as his parents served as positive role models for him.

What Composes GA House Dist. #136:

• Coweta County: Including the cities Senoia, Haralson, Turin, Moreland, and Grantville. Includes the East Coweta High School district.
• Meriwether County: Alvaton, Gay, Woodbury, Greenville, and the communities of Imlac, Raleigh, the Cove, and Odessadale.
• Troup County: Including the cities of Hogansville, Grantville, and parts of LaGrange, including the Callaway High School district and Garner-Newman Middle School and the area around the Griggs Center. Does not cover Downtown LaGrange or LaGrange College.
